Flyball in Iowa

Juice had only played in a flyball tournament once since Championships. And that was just for one day. We ran in a tournament this past week end and she was awesome. She hasn't practiced once in 6 months. She ran her fastest time ever this past weekend. I wonder how she would be if she was conditioned and worked the box. Needless to say I am starting on that now. Today I am establishing goals. Short and long term for Juice and flyball. Now the fun begins. Conditioning, nutrition, and boxwork plans begin NOW!

Maybe I Still am Crazy about Flyball

I went to watch my team play on Saturday and ended up coming back and running Juice on Sunday. There was concern for one of the dogs and the team needed another dog to share the load. Needless to say I had a really good and fun time. Juice was running 4.1's and 4.2's and hadn't run any flyball in 4 months. So now I'm thinking about goals. I always have to have short term and long term goals. I didn't think that the feelings that went along with winning Championships could be topped. I found out recently that Division 2 was split and we did not move up in to Division 1. We have the opportunity for a repeat. I like the sound of preparing for that. I'm back!

No Longer teaching flyball

I've been thinking about quitting for sometime. I just informed the place that I have taught flyball for years that I will no longer do so. I'm DONE! I am not sure if I am just burned out or if I am done with flyball........we will see.....

Flyball Championships

What an AWESOME weekend it was. The culmination of almost 13 years of flyball. I started with Rudy back in 1997 and it has been a blast ever since. At Championships we went undefeated, took first place out of 15 teams, ran our fastest time ever at 15.896, and moved to division 1. "IMPRESSIVE"! It is always a tough decision as an athlete when it is time to stop. I think it might be that time because this is as good as it gets. This feeling and high won't come around in flyball for me again.
